Generally we make the most of everything that comes into our hands. If we can use it at the shelter it is perfect, but if not we take it to our markets and sell it to raise funds. So we are very grateful for any donation that is made to us, whatever it is.

Even so, there are always things more necessary than others since they are the ones we use day by day in the shelter and we have to buy them to be able to do the tasks. We detail them to you so that you can have an idea about what you can help us with.

Dog/cat food

Food is always necessary and we are grateful to receive it. But it is important that you take into consideration that a bag of dog/cat feed at a supermarket or veterinarian, no matter how cheap it is, will always be more expensive to you than to us, so, with what you spend buying it, surely we could buy more quantity.

Having this in mind, if it is possible, we prefer that if you are thinking of buying feed, you better spend that money on something else or donate it directly to us so that we can make a better profit.

Cat litter

Those of you who have cats will know perfectly the requirements that these animals have. One of these requirements is having a place with cat litter where they can relieve themselves. At the shelter we spent large amounts of cat litter due to the number of cats that we have.

Cleaning material

Every day the cages are cleaned in the morning and in the afternoon, as well as the other areas of the shelter. We also put washing machines with clothes (towels, rags, sheets …) that we use for the animals. So you can imagine how many products we spend everyday.
To clean we usually use bleach, floor cleaners, washing machine detergent, industrial and normal garbage bags, hand soap, etc. In addition to the utensils such as mop buckets, mops, brooms, brushes… that can last longer, so we don’t need them in such a hurry.

Textile

Many of the animals arrive in bad conditions, hit by cars, with wounds, with diarrhea and/or vomiting. And for them, as well as for the puppies or the cats, we use towels, blankets, sheets or all kinds of textiles similar to these that can be used to warm them up, cuddle them or dry them after the bath.

The majority of the textiles are washed but there are many that cannot be because even washed could transmit a disease brought by the animal newcomer. So we wear them out quickly. That is why we always need this type of textiles, especially in winter.

Medical equipment

Apart from the medicines that are already somewhat more sensitive to buy, we also use material more accessible to anyone such as latex gloves, disposable masks, disposable aprons, bandages, cotton, alcohol…

Pet carriers and kennels

Although we have many cages, there are also areas where there is no roof so we put kennels for our dogs to take shelter. However, these kennels get damaged easily, so we need to replace them faster.

Also, we strongly need pet carriers since some of our animals are adopted in other countries and must go in carriers for the trip. Sadly, many of the carriers break during the trip and others take a long time to return to us, so several times we have to spend money to buy new ones.
